What You'll Do

The Accounting Manager - Expense is responsible for the tracking and reviewing of day-to-day accounting tasks and activities surrounding operating costs, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, long term financing, consolidation activity, and related balance sheet activity. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance team and other department heads to review costs versus budget and the status of projects spend, while also coordinating with Finance Service on addressing questions from our advisory community around monthly financials. This individual will manage a team of three that works closely with the accounts payable team to oversee the recording of all invoices and expense reports processed through our payment processing system. The Accounting Manager role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and is a key participant in the Finance function.

  • Comprehensive Balance Sheet management in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure an accurate and timely completion of month-end responsibilities for full expense team
  • Oversee consolidation entries and technical accounting related to mergers and acquisitions
  • Manage daily invoice and expense reporting within our payment processing system
  • Responsible for managing multiple high-volume bank reconciliations
  • Assist with a procure to pay system implementation and other special projects
  • Assess and document current processes and procedure, while making recommendations for efficiency improvements
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Support the annual financial audit process by providing accurate information and fostering productive relationships with external auditors
  • Provide insight and guidance cross-functionally
  • Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, and other firm wide managers regarding financial results

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated success in building meaningful, professional, relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while also being self-driven to work independently on prioritized projects and tasks
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to concurrently manage projects and tasks with competing deadlines
