Responsibilities:
Perform general food service tasks within pre-established standard operating procedures and adhere to all policies and procedures surrounding food handling, sanitation, health and safety.
- Assist Food Service Supervisor in the development, implementation and preparation of daily menus, meals and special events.
- Assist supervisor and collaborate with department staff to ensure balanced meals are served to residents to comply with established standards.
- Assist in ordering and/or purchase of food and supplies.
- Ensure proper inventory levels are maintained by conducting periodic inventory checks.
- Prepare food and/or assist in the preparation of meals for residents and staff according to established meal plans and in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow sanitation and safety regulations and standards.
- Follow food-handling procedures in accordance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the food service, preparation and serving areas.
Required Education & Licensure:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum 2 years related food service experience.
- Certificate in food handling.
Work Schedule & Salary:
- Schedule: Full Time, weekdays & some weekends; 5:30a-2p & 10a-6:30p shifts
- Salary: Starting at $18.50 per hour
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion tasks with hands and wrists.
- Must be able to bend, reach, twist and turn in a manner conducive to a large cafeteria/cooking environment
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
