Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Paralegal to join our team in Rosemont, IL (Chicago). The Paralegal position plays a vital role in supporting legal department activities. Responsibilities include assisting attorneys in drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research document review/editing, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and revising a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research on various topics.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, documents, and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the legal team.
  • Assist with management of contract lifecycle from initiation to execution, including tracking deadlines, renewals, and amendments.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties to gather information and documentation necessary for legal matters.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal presentations, reports, and other materials for internal and external use.
  • Support the legal team in managing litigation matters, including document collection, review, and production.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Serve as office manager for newly formed Chicago Utz office.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm, corporate legal department, or related environment, preferably with public company equity background and/or within the consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of legal concepts and terminology, with the ability to apply them in practical situations.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
