The Potocsnak Family Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago at Northwestern Medicine is seeking to recruit a faculty member as Director for our Mental Health in Primary Care Program. This program offers medical management of common conditions such as depression, anxiety and ADHD to adolescents and young adults (up to age 25) and fills a critical gap in our community. The Medical Director would oversee the conceptualization and development of this growing program and provide direct clinical care at our main adolescent clinic as well as potentially one satellite location. The ideal candidate would be a board eligible or certified Adolescent Medicine physician (or alternatively a Board-certified pediatrician with specific interest/expertise working with adolescents) who is passionate about mental health, who has experience in mental health assessment and treatment, and who is excited to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate would join a rapidly growing & dynamic adolescent medicine practice and research group. The Potocsnak Family Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine is located in a new, state-of-the-art adolescent-friendly facility that fully integrates medical and behavioral health services. The Division currently has over 60 staff and 10 multi-disciplinary faculty. It offers comprehensive primary and consultative care to adolescents and young adults and has an impressive on-going program of research funded by the NIH. The Division houses innovative specialty programs in Gender & Sex Development and Substance Abuse and Prevention. Our outpatient programs see over 4,000 unique visits annually at one of two outpatient locations. Our multidisciplinary team includes adolescent medicine physicians and advanced nurse practitioners, pediatricians, clinical psychologists, nurses, social workers, researchers, education & community outreach specialists, and administrative staff. We aim to address clinical and population health problems of adolescents and young adults through interdisciplinary methods and collaborations, often forging partnerships with community-based organizations to achieve shared goals.

Finally, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Northwestern University Medical School. The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine provides clinical and teaching opportunities at Lurie Children's Hospital and at our satellite clinic locations. The Division has an ACGME-approved Adolescent Medicine fellowship program that the faculty member would be expected to participate in.

The faculty member will have ample protected time and solid mentorship for academic pursuits. The faculty member will obtain an academic appointment at the level up to Assistant Professor, depending on experience. We are accepting applicants for a faculty position in the clinician-educator, non-tenure-eligible track. A track record of leadership experience is strongly preferred. Salary and benefits are competitive. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019. Or as soon as possible. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
