Endeavor Health - Edward & Elmhurst Hospitals consists of 736-bed system that includes three hospitals - Edward Hospital in Naperville, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health (on the Edward campus), and an extensive ambulatory care network that provides comprehensive healthcare to residents of the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Job Summary:Provides routine and complex respiratory therapy treatment to patients and performs a variety of routine pulmonary function tests according to established procedures in order to provide data used in diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease/ailments. In doing so, interprets physicians' order, obtains pertinent patient information, arranges and sets up necessary supplies and equipment, and monitors equipment regularly for proper functioning and records data obtained during therapy in patient charts. Assists in monitoring department procedures, recommends enhancements, and assists in developing procedures as requested.

The facility at Plainfield is a 24-hour Health Center with an Emergency Department. The Respiratory Therapist will have a different scope of practice which would allow the individual to perform additional medical tasks outside of Respiratory Care such as:

  • Summary physician consults
  • Transport patients to diagnostic testing areas
  • Obtain nasal swabs for RSV+/Flu/COVID-19
  • Greet/Enter patients into hospital system

Location: Plainfield

Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:30pm-7:00am) with weekend rotation

What you will need:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Graduate from a nationally accreditedRespiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation forRespiratory Care (CoARC)
  • Illinois RCP license (RCP)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Current CPR Certification issued byAmerican Heart Association or American Red Cross (BLS Provider or BLS Instructor)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
  • Able to rotate in ER, ICU, NICU and regular floor therapy. Willing to train as a Charge Therapist and Pulmonary Function Test.
