CAD Designer II

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Chastain & Associates LLC (Chastain) has an exciting opportunity for aCAD Designer II working with public or private infrastructure projects. The CAD Designer II will be responsible for carrying out a variety of drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative, preparing layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications using AutoCAD and/or related software.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in Engineering technology or equivalent
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Familiarity with transportation plans and technical drawings.
- Ability to read, understand and apply regulatory codes and ordinances.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist civil engineers with project development and plan production.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, redlines, sketches, details, calculations, and documentation.
- Generate transportation CAD plans and hardcopies based on an engineer’s design and standard engineering practice.
- Provide quantity calculations, estimates of time, estimates of cost, and project updates as needed.
