ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to Child Development Supervisors and the Director of the Child Care Center who in turn reports to the Dean of the College of Education. This position will assist the Child Development Supervisor and the Director in supervising Child Care Assistants, Student Workers, Student Teachers, Clinical/Observation Students, and Volunteers assigned or associated with the Toddler, Pre-School, and Pre-K programs. This position also works with the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education faculty.

Minimal Qualifications:
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for employment as a Child Care Worker in a licensed child care facility.
1). Section 407.140 DCFS qualifications:
Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall be at least 19 years of age.
Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
2). In addition to meeting the requirements of Section 407.100, the early childhood teacher responsible for a group of children that includes infants, toddler or preschool-age children shall have achieved:

Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six;
OR
One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six.
3). Physical examination as required by Illinois Child Care Act for employees in child care facilities personal attributes required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for all child care personnel (Can be completed during the first 6 months of employment).
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services required credentials can be reviewed .

Hourly Rate: $18.00
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision benefits, generous time off plans, and participation in the State Universities Retirement System.
Educational Benefits: Eligible for tuition waiver of 6 credit hours per semester after probationary period is met.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7a.m. - 6 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs).
